Smart meter gateway

P1 and HAN smart meter data, delivered to your own cloud.

mini-OTG reads the customer port of the electricity meter, over P1 (RJ12), HAN (RJ45), RS485 or IP, and publishes the telegrams to your broker or API. No app, no consumer cloud, no third-party account in between.

Electricity smart meter close-up

A P1 dongle is built for a consumer app. Your platform needs a fleet device.

Most P1 readers on the market send data to their own app or cloud, or expose a local API that your platform cannot reach behind the customer router. That works for a household dashboard, but not for an energy platform that has to trust the reading, own the data path and support thousands of sites.

P1 is also not one standard. The Netherlands uses DSMR, Belgium uses eMUCS-P1, Luxembourg encrypts its Smarty P1 output, and the Nordic markets use several HAN variants. A gateway can be electrically compatible and still misread country-specific data.

mini-OTG treats the meter as one qualified device profile on a professional gateway: installed in the meter cabinet, configured once on its local web server, and delivering to the endpoint you control over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G LTE.

Your endpoint is the destination.

An installer configures the gateway on its local web server and enters your endpoint and credentials. Data goes straight to your platform. No mini-OTG cloud sits in between.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

01Which smart meters does mini-OTG support?

The platform reads DSMR and eMUCS-P1 over the P1 port, HAN interfaces, and RS485 or IP meters over Modbus. Compatibility is confirmed per meter model, firmware and country profile during an evaluation, not claimed in general.

02Does the meter data go through a mini-OTG cloud?

No. The gateway publishes directly to the MQTTS broker, secure WebSocket or HTTPS endpoint you enter during commissioning. There is no mandatory mini-OTG account or measurement-data platform in the path.

03What happens when the internet connection drops?

Readings are stored locally with their original timestamps and sequence, then replayed in order when the uplink returns. Ethernet, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE can be configured as primary or fallback.
